October Members Meeting

 Red Rock Members! We are happy to announce our next meeting and hope to see you soon. Our next meeting will take place on October 22nd at 5:30 pm within the Martin condominiums Conference room, 2nd floor. The address again is: 4471 Dean Martin Dr Las Vegas, NV89103 I am excited to share that this meeting will feature our member, Cheryl Magellan. Loving to draw since childhood, Cheryl first began using pastel while living in southern Oregon when she studied with Roni Marsh, a long-Time student, and friend of Richard McKinley. Wishing to further her artistic expression, she went on to paint in oil and acrylic. Her experimentation with mixed media eventually led her back to working in pastel. Using UART 400-grit paper, Cheryl will be doing a pastel demonstration developing her painting by layering Inktense water-soluble pastels, soft and hard pastels, gesso and metallics. She uses hand- layering and brush techniques in her process. She will also discuss the process she goes through prior to beginning a painting. Cheryl currently offers drawing, painting, abstraction, mixed media, design, composition, and color theory at the Priscilla Fowler Gallery, as well as her private studio downtown.
