After much consideration, our team of jurors decided to have all the eligible work be presented in this Online Gallery due to the highest artistic level of all of the participants and their elaboration on the theme.

Irina Klimova

 Irina Klimova is an artist, an art educator, and a member of the National Pastel Society of Russia and the Red Rock Pastel Society of Nevada (USA). She graduated from the Art and Graphic Faculty of Moscow Pedagogical State University and finished an apprenticeship at the School of Graphics. Upon graduation, Irina worked as an artist and an art director of post-production in movies and commercials. She has been working with soft pastels since 1997. Alongside painting, most of her time is devoted to teaching. Irina conducts online courses, tutorials, and workshops. She is a participant and a winner of many pastel art exhibitions in Russia and abroad.

Marla Baggeta

Marla Baggetta

Marla Baggetta is a prolific painter and teacher. Her paintings can be found in numerous public and private collections throughout the country. She regularly contributes to many art publications such as Pastel Journal.  Marla is a signature PSA member and an IAPS Master Circle Recipient. Marla graduated from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, Ca. She worked as a commercial illustrator for 25 years. After moving to Oregon in 1993, she was inspired by the beauty of the Willamette Valley and began painting landscapes that blend realism and abstraction that convey a sense of calm and balance. Among her numerous awards and honors are Arts for the Parks Annual Juried Exhibition. Marla has been featured in the Pastel Journal and is included in Pure Color: The Best of Pastel and Sketchbook Confidential II. She is the author of Step by Step Pastel by Walter Foster Publishing.

Stephie Clark

Stephie Clark is an Australian-based soft pastel artist, best known for her uninhibited exploration of the natural world. Self-taught, Stephie began her love affair with soft pastels in 2011, cultivating inspiration from the Impressionism art movement and her close observation of beauty in nature. She is also drawn to nature photography and uses many of her original photographs as references in her soft pastel paintings.

Since becoming a full-time artist, Stephie divides her time between painting in her country studio in Armidale and teaching workshops at home, online, and abroad. She loves sharing the raw potential of the pastel medium, bringing a subject to life through color, light, and composition. Stephie cherishes her connection with her many students worldwide and has an active Patreon community in which she shares monthly tutorials, mentorship, and material reviews. Stephie has been a featured artist in demonstrations held by the Pastel Society in Australia and New Zealand. She is also a member of the Pastel Guild of Europe and has been interviewed & featured in a French magazine, Pratique des Arts.
