About the event
Travel back to the Gilded Age in this unique Zoom workshop with Corey Pitkin PSA, IAPS-MC. Working from a costumed model in his studio, Corey will show you how many of his pastel techniques were inspired by some of the great masters of the late 1800s such as John Singer Sargent, Anders Zorn, and Ilya Repin. The focus of the workshop will be on color choices, mark-making, and how a simple design can be effectively used to create a powerful portrait. Corey will demonstrate using a full-color pastel palette. The model will be displayed on a split-screen allowing students to paint along. The workshop will end with a group critique.
You will need:
